The Grade 3 students were the first to kick off the adventure on 20th February at Vipe Fun Park in Ruiru. From bouncing on inflatable castles to zooming down slides, the students had a day filled with laughter and excitement. The park provided the perfect setting for the young learners to interact, develop social skills, and simply enjoy their childhood.
Grade 1 & 2 at Vipe Fun Park – 21st February
The following day, on 21st February, it was time for the younger ones—Grade 1 and 2 students—to enjoy the magic of Vipe Fun Park. Despite their smaller size, their energy and enthusiasm were boundless. They hopped on merry-go-rounds, played with their friends, and participated in engaging activities designed to stimulate creativity and curiosity.
Grade 8 & 9 to Menengai Crater – 22nd February
On 22nd February, the adventure took a more educational turn as Grade 8 and 9 students set off for Menengai Crater, one of Kenya’s most stunning geological formations. Unlike the younger students who had a day of play, these learners were immersed in nature, geography, and history.Standing on the edge of the crater, students were awed by the panoramic views, a sight that brought their geography lessons to life. The trip provided an opportunity to study volcanic activity firsthand and understand the significance of conservation efforts in protecting such natural wonders.
The Impact of Educational Trips
At Mary Happy Schools, field trips are more than just outings; they are an extension of learning. These experiences help students develop confidence, social skills, and an appreciation for the world beyond their textbooks. Seeing the joy in their eyes and the knowledge they gained makes these trips worthwhile.
The February trips were a huge success, thanks to the meticulous planning of the teachers and staff, the cooperation of parents, and the enthusiasm of the students. As we look forward to more educational adventures, one thing is clear—learning happens best when it’s fun!
